Learning progress and settings

The website stores progress and settings in your browser. The iPhone and iPad app stores them on your device. There is no cloud sync.

The app, website, browsers and devices keep separate histories. Clearing website data deletes that browser’s progress. Deleting the app deletes its local data. Device backups may keep app data, depending on your settings.

To remove saved data, clear this site’s data in your browser settings, or delete the app and its data in iOS Settings. This removes your saved progress.

Teacher lessons and shared links

Lesson links contain a title and word list. There is no lesson database or student list. Anyone with the link can see the title and practise the words.

The lesson is in the part of the URL after #. Browsers normally do not send this part to the hosting server. People and services you share the link with, your browser history and browser extensions may still see the full link. Keep personal information, such as names or grades, out of lesson titles.

Teachers do not receive students’ answers or scores. Practice data stays in each student’s browser.

Website requests and hosting

The website downloads pages, pictures and audio from its hosting provider. Server or network logs may include your IP address, browser, requested file and request time. These logs are separate from local learning progress.

The app code has no analytics or advertising trackers. The hosting provider and network services may still keep technical logs.

The iPhone and iPad app bundles its lesson pictures and recordings, so core practice works offline.

External links and support

Research links and the publisher website have their own privacy policies. If you email [email protected], we receive your email address, message and anything you include so we can reply. Please do not include private student data.
